FIRST DRIVE 2011 CADILLAC CTS-V WAGON

FIRST DRIVE 2011 CADILLAC CTS-V WAGON
2011 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon
As with the CTS-V Coupe, everything forward of the A-pillars was lifted straight from the CTS-V Sedan and mated to the Cadillac Sport Wagon's body. Not everything is the same, of course. The show special you see here features a new rear fascia with a special roof-edge spoiler and integrated third brake light, all of which are unique to the concept and could see production in the future. The car is finished in the same Midnight Silver paint as the Sixteen Concept, augmented by special Liquid Silver wheels and a Black Chrome grille.

Beneath the melded bodywork beats a familiar heart. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is endowed as expected with Cadillac's wicked 556-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 551 pound-feet of torque. It's fitted with a true dual-exhaust system and backed up by either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Power flows to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, and the 19-inch wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.

Cadillac Aera Concept LA Show 2010

Cadillac Aera Concept LA Show 2010
Attention to the Los Angeles Auto Show is on new vehicles and concepts in ways a car in the very near future. One aspect of the show but looking further, pushing their vision of the designer to create a topic included. The Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge has taken seven years, the designers had in 2010 to a car of 1000 pounds, the stylish and performance-oriented, but was also able to take to create four passengers. GM Advanced Design Team came to the plate and with his concept was Cadillac, took first place. The podium is full are, however, because the Smart 454 also claimed a victory in the competition as the judges declared a draw.

This is the third time that GM has won this challenge by providing them with the most wins in all car manufacturers to power. The ERA concept Cadillac hit on all areas that the judges sought, and despite the futuristic style, with a few lines of Cadillac recognizable today.

The Smart 454 is a different approach to this competition, compared to the dark and dramatic. The 454 refers to the vehicle's weight in kilograms, and is described as built, or rather carbon fiber mesh Smart robot grandmother. "These robots or SGR can turn coal into complex shapes, which allows multiple forms to be created for the super-strong. The wheels are carbon fiber, which would roll for less unsprung weight and a strong platform to pull the WWT 454.

2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe Sports performance

2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe.

This 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe, the first model in the brand’s new lineup, arrived in showrooms in August. Special note should be made of the exterior’s classic hardtop, angled windshield, sculpted lower front fascia and center outlet exhaust with twin dihedral-shaped tips and a rear spoiler. Yes, “bold as hell” sums it up.

It has an estimated fuel economy rating of 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway plus offers a 25 percent drop in cold-start hydrocarbon emissions.

We could tell you all of the high-tech engineering feats that make the car’s performance and ride crisp but not stiff, but suffice to say the engineers obviously put great care into the car’s engine and suspension systems. The bottom line is this is a responsive, road-hugging champ that includes standard “StabliTrak” — an advanced electronic chassis control system.

An integrated iPod/MP3 system, 40-gig hard drive, pop-up navigation system and adaptive lighting are just some of the high-tech systems included.
The "2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe" is not your parents’ Caddy.

The Sports/Performance category saw a renewal of the rivalry between General Motors (represented by its Cadillac CTS-V Coupe) and Ford (which entered its Shelby Mustang), with a ringer thrown in, in the form of Mercedes-Benz, championed by its E550 Cabriolet.
Cadillac’s CTS-V sedan was an establishment rocker when introduced for 2004 with a 400-hp V-8 under its hood and overall performance rivalling some of the world’s hottest road cars. Joining it for 2011 are the CTS-V Sport Wagon and the CTS-V Coupe.

All the new "Cadillac CTS Coupe" are rear-wheel drive and feature keyless access/remote start and keyless auto-touch doors as well as ultrasonic rear-parking assist and a Bose sound system too. The Cadillac CTS Coupe comes in standard, performance, and premium models for 2011.

The premium and performance Cadillac CTS Coupe come equipped with Bluetooth technology, an integrated hard-drive for media storage, and adaptive headlamps. The price of the CTS Coupe models ranges from $38,165 to $51,035. Qualified buyers can receive 1.9 percent financing for 36 months on all 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe models.

Cadillac ATS is Coming

General Motors announced yesterday that it will invest $190 million in its Lansing Grand River assembly plant for the production of a new Cadillac model that will fit below the Cadillac CTS and will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series.

Known as the Cadillac ATS, the model is expected to debut in a sedan variant in the fall of 2012 as a 2013 model year. GM doesn’t plan on stopping only with a sedan version of the Cadillac ATS.

reports suggested that General Motors was on the cusp of announcing a $190 million upgrade to its Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan. Earlier this morning, GM confirmed the investment, which is designed to allow the plant to build a new Cadillac model.

Although Ackerson didn't reveal the Cadillac model by name, mention of an all-new small luxury car points directly to the forthcoming Cadillac ATS model range. The model, which is designed to compete against the BMW's 3 Series, will allow the next iteration of the CTS to grow in size to target the BMW 5 Series. Both models are expected to share GM's next-generation Alpha rear-wheel-drive architecture, and as announced today, will be built within the same factory.

Hell, even Chrysler has really gotten its act together with cars like the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2011 Dodge Durango. But when you see what Ford and General Motors is putting together, you can really become astonished.

Keeping in mind that Cadillac has brought its "A" game lately -- with the Cadillac CTS, which has the nicest American interior probably ever -- it seems like Cadillac may have a huge opportunity to go head-to-head with entry-level premium cars like the BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.

2011 cadillac escalade review

The base Escalade comes standard with 18-inch wheels, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, power-folding and driver-side auto-dimming exterior mirrors, a power liftgate, automatic xenon headlights, foglights and running boards. The Cadillac Escalade Luxury adds chromed 22-inch cast-aluminum wheels, automatic headlight high-beams, a blind-spot warning system, a suspension with an active damping system (optional on the base model), a sunroof, power-folding and tumbling second-row seats and a heated steering wheel.

The Cadillac Escalade Premium adds power-retractable running boards and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with a single roof-mounted display (optional on Luxury). Rear-wheel drive is standard on the Cadillac Escalade, but all-wheel drive is optional.

The Cadillac Escalade features cylinder deactivation technology for improved fuel economy. Standard safety features on the Cadillac Escalade include stability control, antilock disc brakes, traction control, front side-impact airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera and OnStar emergency telematics. Adding the available second-row bench raises total seating capacity to eight. Fold those second-row seats down and the cargo capacity grows to an impressive 108.9 cubic feet.

The 2011 Cadillac Escalade ranks 2 out of 10 Luxury Large SUVs. The 2011 Cadillac Escalade is not for shrinking violets.

"There are luxury SUVs and then there's the 2011 Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade can seat up to eight people and comes in four models: the Escalade, Escalade ESV (an extended wheelbase version), the Escalade EXT (which trades the third row seat and enclosed cargo area for a short truck bed) and the Escalade Hybrid. We review the Escalade EXT and the Escalade Hybrid separately.

The 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid combined luxurious and chic design with a superior 2-Mode power train for significant fuel savings, and early predictions have the 2011 exceeding the high standards its predecessor set.

The head turning vehicle is impeccably appointed, as well as an extremely smooth ride.

Cadillac STS Review

The 2010 Cadillac STS defies the stereotype of a huge Caddy sedan that handles ponderously, where the back seat is the place to be. The STS offers handling that defies its huge size, athletic poise thanks to its magnetic ride control, and a bold look. The "Cadillac STS" is the driver's car.
But the Cadillac STS has suffered quality problems, with many reviewers citing questionable interior build quality.

The base Cadillac STS features a direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 rated at 302 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. A full-size luxury sedan in its physical dimensions, the Cadillac STS is priced in line with other premium midsize sedans that offer V6 and V8 engines. There are five trim levels -- V6 Luxury Sport, V6 Luxury, V6 Premium, V8 Luxury and V8 Performance. The V6 Luxury adds perks such as Bluetooth, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and rain-sensing wipers. The V6 Premium highlights include 18-inch (versus 17-inch) wheels, upgraded braking/steering/cooling systems, auto-dimming xenon headlights, upgraded audio and a navigation system. In reviews and road tests, our editors have found the strengths of the Cadillac STS to be its nimble road manners, powerful engine options and high-quality audio system.

The Cadillac STS rear-wheel-drive luxury sport sedan officially debuted for the 2005 model year and offered in 255-hp V6 and 320-hp V8 versions. Prior to 2010, the current STS's trim levels were essentially option packages available on V6 and V8 trims.

The performance-oriented version of that car was known as the Cadillac STS and featured a more powerful V8 engine and more luxury features. The 1992-'97 Seville also featured a similar STS edition.

Cadillac Escalade Read customer car reviews and research before you buy - find out what others are saying about the car you are considering returning.

Although the" Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV"Was not the first sold in the U.S. market, it was the first light truck in the history of the Cadillac brand

Generously proportioned inside and out, this sport-utility vehicle has a bold and angular face, exaggerated Wreath-and-crest badging and chrome trim everywhere you look

There's no subtlety under the hood, either, as the current truck's 2.6-liter V8 delivers an imposing exhaust rumble

Current Cadillac Escalade
The current (third-generation) Cadillac Escalade is the most modern and Luxurious version of this full-size SUV to date. The transmission routes power to the rear wheels on two-wheel-drive models or all four on all-wheel-drive models. Inside, unlike previous generations, the "Escalade" no longer feels like a hastily reupholstered Chevy Tahoe. Blue-needled electroluminescent gauges are unique to the Escalade, and they want the match the graphics on the large center screen That handles the audio, navigation and rearview camera functions. A power-folding second-row seat option eases access to the third row. Used Cadillac Escalade Models

The latest (third) generation of the "Cadillac Escalade" debuted for the 2007 model year. The '10 Escalade Received cylinder-deactivation technology; Those Produced Earlier models achieve one fewer mpg. The second-generation Escalade was sold from 2002-'06. Aside from its Cadillac Badges, upgraded leather and Zebrano wood, there was nothing to distinguish "the original Escalade from GM's lower-line SUVs"

New Cadillac CTS-V

New Cadillac CTS-V The fastest, most powerful Cadillac ever built. The fastest, most powerful American sedan in history, for that matter. Locked, loaded, and gunning for Europe's heavy-hitting sport sedans-BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, Audi RS6. Read all that again. Now pinch yourself. No, you're not dreaming. Motown -- well, GM at least -- has its mojo back. Meet Cadillac's monster new CTS-V. Cadzilla, if you will.

Specification: 550 horsepower at 6200 rpm. 550 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. They're only official "estimates," but as the engine under the new CTS-V's power-domed hood is fundamentally the same as the supercharged V-8 that's credited with 620-plus horsepower and at least 600 pound-feet in the hot new Corvette ZR1, you can safely assume the real SAE-certified figures will be close. "I'm confident we'll disappoint nobody with the numbers," says Ed Piatek, the CTS-V's program engineering manager.
